"5000 m/s Music Festival" is a festival being held for the first time, with the theme of Finnish rock music.
The event will take place in the unique environment of the Toijala Locomotive Museum. The venue offers a vast array of possibilities for stages and performances. The festival is organized in collaboration with Museoveturiseura ry.
The goal of the festival is to revitalize the activities of the Toijala Locomotive Museum and thereby the entire cultural life of Akaa in a unique environment with excellent transport connections.
The event takes into account the special environment of the Locomotive Museum, and with production solutions, railway history is woven together with musical performances and exceptional program solutions.
The 5000 m/s Music Festival is committed to promoting equality and accessibility for all festival-goers, performers, and employees. The goal of the festival is to create a safe, accessible, and inclusive environment where everyone can fully enjoy the event experiences.
Our festival is completely alcohol-free. In this way, we aim to reduce littering and potential disruptive behavior and create a safer atmosphere for every festival visitor.
Main Stage - Junction Station
The main stage, Junction Station, is a large performance stage that fits the traditional festival look and blends into the museum's yard without spoiling the landscape. Toijala's historic junction station becomes part of the festival environment, and announcements echoing from the station indicate that you are at the station.
Culture Stall
The second stage is the locomotive hall's "Culture Stall". Museoveturiseura ry named the rented stall in the locomotive hall as the culture stall in 2024, when the CEO of the 5000 m/s Music Festival, Valtteri Mönkö, organized his own farewell party there in the form of a festival. The Culture Stall presents lighter programming than the Junction Station, but still according to the theme, i.e., Finnish rock. The acoustics of the space are beautiful but echoing, and high decibels are not suitable there. We implement what the space needs and serves best in the Culture Stall.
Turntable Stage
The third stage is in the museum yard, in front of the curved locomotive hall, at the most central location, the Turntable Stage, where equipment demonstrations are held during the festival.
We recommend arriving at the event by train from Turku, Tampere, or Helsinki. From Toijala station, it is less than a 300-meter walk to the Locomotive Museum. You can find train tickets and schedules on VR's website.
Right near the museum, there is also a VAU traffic stop for those coming from Urjala, Kylmäkoski, and Valkeakoski. You can find VAU traffic schedules on the Akaa city website.
For those arriving from nearby areas, we recommend coming on foot or by bike. It is also possible to arrive by car. There is plenty of parking space around Toijala station on both sides of the railway.
Ticket inspection and wristband exchange open at 15:15 for the outdoor event, i.e., the Junction Station program, and at 19:15 for the Culture Stall program.
The production team of the 5000 m/s festival consists of experienced young professionals at the beginning of their careers. The festival's production is led by Toijala's own Valtteri Mönkö, CEO, and Konsta Virtanen from Ikaalinen, technical production. Additionally, Emilia Granroth from Espoo completes the team and serves as the program producer.
